“He’s a jerk!”
“He’s not a jerk; he’s an Aries.”
“Don’t make excuses for him!”
“Look, I know you’re upset but, honestly, he can’t help how he behaves. I mean — “ I held up a hand gently to calm her emotional outburst. “He acts without ever thinking of consequences. He just thrusts himself into the world, and only thinks of consequences after the fact.”
“Yeah, whatever. He’s a toddler, with his huge ego and temper tantrums.”
“Well, yes,” I considered. “Aries is the baby of the zodiac. And yes, he’s ruled by Mars, which represents the ego, so — “ I shrug, “it’s hard for him to think of deeper soul meanings. To him, his ego desires are all-encompassing. That’s why water and earth signs have a hard time dealing.”
She pouts. I feel bad, and try to help by explaining.
“Take you, for instance. You’re calculating, always thinking ahead, and you’ll wait ages for success. You have perfected the delayed gratification strategy because you have the ability to wait. Aries doesn’t. They’re impatient.”
“Why doesn’t he ever think of things from my point of view?”
I shake my head. “I don’t know if he can.”
She huffs.
“It’s our cross to bear,” I explain. “You can empathize, and see it from his point of view, and it makes you angry that he can’t.”
“Yes, of course!”
“Well, that’s our lot in life.”
“To be misunderstood?”
I move my head from side to side, considering. “Kind of. We’re responsible for the emotional health of our relationships, if that makes sense.”
Her head hangs.
“Hey,” I try to find words that will help her. “Look at it this way. We get more out of life.”
“What do you mean?”
“We can kind of figure life out, in a way,” I hedge. “We understand what makes people tick. We’re observant. It’s way harder for an Aries. He tends to only think about his own needs. He may never understand his own soul.”

I totally agree. As an earth sign though, if we can get over our sensitive selves, we are a match made in heaven with these signs.
I hear you! I have an earth moon, we tend to be more calculating. Aries (and the other fire signs) tend to be more impulsive; they act first without thinking of consequences. It can be difficult for an earth person to deal with.
