Writing Tip Wednesday: David Gaughran will help you with everything self-publishing-related

I only recommend self-publishing experts who I know offer value to you. There is so much information out there on self-publishing, that it’s easy for authors to get overwhelmed and end up in decision paralysis.

At some point, you need to call an end to your research and TAKE ACTION. Author David Gaughran will help you do that.

Gaughran is a huge proponent of self-publishing, for all the reasons we talk about on this blog. Self-published authors put in all of the work, but also get to reap all of the profit. It’s hard work, no doubt about it. But you have complete creative control over your work and get to make all decisions. To me, that’s a huge plus.

David Gaughran can help you get started. First, Gaughran is currently offering a FREE COURSE called Starting from Zero, which will teach you how to self-publish and build an audience of passionate readers for your books. I’m doing the course now and it’s fantastic. Many places charge you money for these types of courses, which Gaughran provides you FOR FREE.

Do yourself a favor while you’re at it and sign up for Gaughran’s mailing list. As a member, you will receive free and low-cost books on self-publishing, on everything from how to engage readers and turn them into raging fans, to how to use Amazon Ads to sell more books. I’m currently reading Let’s Get Digital, which covers the entire self-publishing process, including how to build a platform and find readers. I highly recommend it!

Gaughran has recently updated his book Amazon Decoded. Since Amazon changes its book-selling algorithms frequently, self-published authors need to stay on top of it. This can be overwhelming, so take advantage of Gaughran’s generosity with his knowledge and check out his books and his free course.
