How to have great relationships with our older kids

I had the pleasure of giving an interview on The Happiness Workshop podcast, hosted by happiness expert Pascale Cook-Fernandes.

We talked about cultivating healthy relationships with our adolescent, teen, and young adult children.

When kids get older, they strive for more independence and exhibit more of what we call “counterwill.” This is all developmentally normal and should be respected and encouraged in an age-appropriate way. At the same time, parents should maintain open lines of communication and spend quality time with kids, so that even older children know that their parents are there to guide them and answer their questions.

We talk about all that and more in this interview, including how to use your child’s birth chart to understand your child’s intrinsic energy.
