How to be a Gentle Parent

I recently welcomed parenting coach and RTT therapist Stefanie Fernandes to the channel!

Stefanie and I talk about complex trauma and how kids are negatively affected when they grow up in a post-war world, where parents are still focused on surviving rather than thriving. Remember that well-being is much more than just surviving!

Stefanie and I specifically talk about Stefanie’s Austrian background and my Hungarian background, and the specific problems that have arisen in raising children in a post-war environment.

Hyperindependent from a young age, Stefanie moved out of the house at age 15. After experiencing toxic relationships, Stefanie was confronted with her own traumatic past when she became a Mom. Today, Stefanie shares her amazing journey with us! Click the image below for the full video 🙂

Highlights of our talk:

-What trauma happens to kids who grow up in a post-war survival-focused world?
-What is gentle parenting?
-How can we start becoming gentle parents and how does it empower both parents and kids?
-How do we know when to let go of control (over our kids, situations, and our environment)?
-How can we deal with our tendency to hyperachieve and live in a hyperindependent way?
-How can Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT) help us begin the process of healing our triggers and calming our emotional disregulation?
